That’s right, the fall production of Wonderful Town is now in progress. With a brand new cast the Burnet Ensemble Theatre Company (BETC) is already getting prepared for opening night Tonya Tiday, the new high school drama director, is getting this year rolling with a new, zanier, wild, song and dance filled musical. In the show Ruth Sherwood (Megan Spinn) and younger sister Eileen (Meghan Robertson) move from a small town in Ohio to the big city, New York. Ruth is working on being a published author while Eileen is an aspiring actress. With Eileen being more radiant of the two sisters she has no problem finding a “free lunch.” Ruth is the more punctual and dedicated sister who has no time for messing around. She is far to busy trying to get an editor to publish her writings to allow boys to get in the way. Ruth meets Bob Baker (Jeff Wittekiend), an editor for the New York’s Manhatter, who helps ruth get a start on the right track with her writing and soon becomes a very close friend. With many different varieties of characters, like Chick Clark (Jacob Claude), Mr. Appopolous (Eric Gauldin), Speedy Valenti (Trevor Wolfe), Wreck (Ben Johnson) and his wife Helen (Sheridan Schaefer), the whole cast is now in their “game faces” for opening night. Tickets are know on sale and this year there is limited seating so hurry and by a seat while they last. You may purchase a ticket by contacting Tonya Tiday, 830-220-1109, or contacting Tonya Tiday, 830-220-1109, or contacting the High Schools front office.
