The Honors Band, directed by Miss Darcy Potter, is composed of about 50 students. Placement into the Honors Band is determined by audition, which allows higher expectations for the participating students. Members of this band are expected to attend sectionals, try-out for District and Region Band in November, and perform a solo at Solo and Ensemble Contest in the spring. The Symphonic Band, directed by Mr. Dusty Rhea, has about 70 members. The goals set for this band center around strengthening the basic foundations of musicianship and create an atmosphere condusive for the success of all its members. Students in the Concert band are encouraged to learn the District/Region Band music as well a solo in the spring.
The Concert Band, directed by Mr. Roger Williams, has around 30 members. The concert band is a competing group that focuses on expanding upon the fundamentals approached in beginner band. Concert band members perform at concerts and solo contests with the opportunity to earn a spot in symphonic band.
