DARCY WILLIAMS - Head Director
Mrs. Williams is in her 5th year at Burnet Middle School. Before becoming a director, she made the TMEA All-State Band on flute her junior and senior years in high school and has studied with New York Philharmonic principal flautist Paige Brook, Dr. Lisa Garner, and Sally Turk. Mrs. Williams received her bachelors in music from West Texas A&M University. She currently teaches beginner flute, clarinet, double reeds, french horn, and directs the BMS Honors Band.
DUSTY RHEA - Assistant Director
Mr. Rhea is originially from Midland where he was a member of the Midland High Band, playing both trumpet and baritone. Mr. Rhea attended West Texas A&M and graduated with his Bachelors in Music and Masters in Conducting. He teaches beginner trombone, euphonium, tuba, percussion and conducting the BMS Symphonic Band. In addition, Mr. Rhea also writes marching band drill for the BHS Band.
ROGER WILLIAMS
Mr. Williams was born in San Antonio and moved to the Dallas suburb of Richardson in the first grade. After gradutation L.V. Berkner High School, he enrolled as a music major at The University of Texas at Austin. While at UT, Mr. Williams played the Longhorn Band for three years and earned a Trumpet Performance Certificate upon graduating with a Bachelor's Degree in Music Studies. After teaching private trumpet lessons, he then completed a Master's Degree in Trumpet Performance at Stephen F. Austin State University in Nacogdoches, TX. While there, Mr. Williams also served as a Graduate Assistant for the trumpet studio and the jazz department. Mr. Williams taught in Lorena and at Paredes MS in Austin before moving to Burnet. He teaches beginner trumpet and saxophone as well as directing the BMS and BHS Concert Bands.
